Meet Allie Evans
IFS, EMDR, and Somatic Therapist in
Denver & San Diego
Allie is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado and California
My favorite part of being a therapist is witnessing the uniqueness and resilience of each of my clients as they unpack the stories that have brought them to therapy. As your therapist, I deeply respect and honor your decision to choose to go to therapy and your commitment to doing the work.
I realize the vulnerability it takes to share your full self with someone. Whether you’re looking for a therapist in Denver, San Diego, or an online therapist licensed in Colorado or California, if you’ve found yourself here, I appreciate you considering me to be the therapist who walks beside you.
A therapist certified in EMDR and Somatic Attachment Therapy
I’m an EMDR Certified Therapist with formal training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approaches—evidence-based methods for healing trauma stored in both the mind and body.
I specialize in supporting people who are navigating the impact of acute and complex trauma—experiences that often leave the nervous system stuck in survival mode and contribute to patterns like perfectionism, low self-esteem, anxiety, or depression. I also work with young professionals and teens facing high expectations as they work to reconnect with their self-worth beyond achievement.
I help my clients tune into the wisdom of their bodies and notice how physical sensations, emotions, and thought patterns are interconnected. By deepening this mind-body awareness, we move beyond traditional talk therapy and into experiential work that gently uncovers what’s held beneath the surface.
One of the top therapists in Denver and San Diego for online therapy
When you choose me as your therapist, you’ll be working with a therapist who practices the methods she uses. Every tool, modality, and intervention I use with clients is one I’ve personally explored or experienced. Many advanced forms of therapy require additional vulnerability. Because of this, we’ll establish a deep level of safety and trust, and I won’t ask you to try a type of therapy I haven’t personally explored myself.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder (Go Buffs!) and my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Southern California. I’m one of the founding therapists at My Denver Therapy, one of the largest therapy practices in Colorado.
As an added bonus for in-person clients in Denver, my dog Jelly Bean is a therapy companion who works full-time in the office with me. We’d be honored to help you start your journey of healing and growth together.
